Unmasking the Imposter

Have you ever felt like you're not as good as others or that you don't deserve the praise or rewards, or credit you receive? Sometimes, adults and even kids can feel this way, and we call it Imposter Syndrome. It's like having a little voice inside our heads that tells us we're not really as smart or talented as people think we are.

Imposter Syndrome makes us doubt ourselves and feel like we're pretending or fooling others. Even when we do something great or accomplish something, we might think it was just luck or that we tricked everyone into believing we're better than we actually are.

But here's the thing, Imposter Syndrome is just a feeling, and it doesn't mean that what we achieve or who we are isn't real or valid. It's just our brains playing tricks on us!

Everyone has their own unique talents and abilities, including you! Sometimes, it's hard to see and believe in ourselves because we compare ourselves to others or worry too much about what they think. But the truth is, we all have strengths and things we're good at, even if we sometimes doubt it.

It's important to remember that it's okay to make mistakes and have moments of self-doubt. It doesn't mean we're not good enough. We can work on building our confidence by celebrating our accomplishments, recognising our efforts, and being kind to ourselves. And it's always helpful to talk to someone we trust like a friend, a parent who can remind us of our strengths and support us. Or even a hypnotherapist like myself.

Just know that you are unique, special, and deserving of all the good things that come your way. Keep being your amazing self and believe in the incredible things you can do!
