How to Start Being Lucky All the Time

Here’s how to start becoming the luckiest person you know.
1. Clear What’s Blocking Your Luck
Think of luck as a flow of opportunities. For many, that flow is blocked by limiting beliefs, toxic relationships, or environments that drain their energy. These barriers act like invisible roadblocks, keeping you stuck in patterns of self-sabotage or fear.
For example, if you constantly tell yourself, “I’m not good enough,” your brain looks for evidence to prove that belief true. You might hesitate to apply for a new role, take on a challenge, or even notice when opportunities are right in front of you.
To unlock your luck, you need to remove these mental barriers. Start by identifying the limiting beliefs holding you back. Ask yourself:
What am I telling myself about success or failure?
Who or what in my environment reinforces these doubts?
Once you identify these blocks, you can start clearing them. This could mean setting boundaries with people who drain your energy, saying no to situations that no longer serve you, or actively challenging negative thoughts.
2. Reprogram Your Mind for Abundance
Your beliefs are like a compass, guiding your actions. When you believe in abundance—believe that success, opportunities, and luck are available to you—you naturally move toward those outcomes. This is where mindset work becomes powerful.

Luck doesn’t thrive in isolation. The people, places, and communities you surround yourself with play a massive role in shaping your mindset.
Think about it: ever notice how successful people tend to associate with other successful people? It’s not just networking—it’s about being in an environment that normalises high standards and big thinking. Surrounding yourself with driven, positive individuals inspires you to aim higher and take actions you might have previously avoided.
This is why joining a supportive community or working with a coach can be transformational. Not only do they hold you accountable, but they also push you to see beyond your current limitations. It’s easier to believe in your potential when others see it in you too.
The Science of Creating Luck
Why does this all work? It comes down to something called the Reticular Activating System (RAS) in your brain. The RAS acts as a filter, determining what information gets your attention.
If you believe, “I’m unlucky,” your RAS filters the world through that lens. You’ll notice every mistake, setback, or missed chance, reinforcing your belief. On the flip side, if you believe, “Opportunities are everywhere,” your RAS starts spotting possibilities and connections you would’ve otherwise ignored.
In other words, luck is simply a matter of training your brain to notice and act on opportunities.
